Han gav allmosor till andra så pass mycket att folk blev förbryllade. Ibn Sabbagh Maliki skrev:</p>
<p>”Musa Kadhim (fvmh) var sin tids största dyrkare, lärde, generöse och högsinte person. Han letade efter Medinas utblottade människor och gick med pengar och andra förnödenheter till deras hus, utan att de förstod varifrån det kom från, förutom efter den Nobles bortgång.”<a href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1">[1]</a></p>
<p>En dag gick den sjunde Imamen (fvmh) tillsammans med några av sina barn och människor runt omkring honom mot sin åker utanför Medina. Innan han hade kommit fram stannade han på vägen för att vila. Vid detta tillfälle kom en svart slav med lite helva till Imamen (fvmh). Den Helige Imamen accepterade dennes gåva. Då slaven såg att vädret var kallt och att Imamen (fvmh) och hans sällskap var i behov av ved för att värma sig själva kom han återigen tillbaka med en del ved som han hade placerat ovanpå sitt huvud och sa: ”Å min mästare! Jag har även kommit med denna ved som en gåva till er.” Imamen (fvmh) accepterade även denna gåva från honom. Därefter frågade Imamen om slavens och hans herremans namn och deras adress. Efter att Imamen återvänt från åkern träffade han slavens herreman vid första tillfälle och köpte slaven tillsammans med den åker han jobbade på från hans herreman efter att de diskuterat klart. Sedan befriade han slaven och skänkte även åkern till honom.<a href="#_ftn2" name="_ftnref2">[2]</a></p>
